Mocking the Masses

can’t take credit for these…bitchslap chicken made them. He’s my trusty sidekick. Together we mock, ridicule and ponder ourselves into oblivion.

The goal of death in any Spiritual journey is to move beyond one’s Self-deceptive sense of “I.” Ego-death is an evident goal in the Christian scripture:

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the Life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.”

This means that Jesus – the bleeding sacred Heart to the depth of the world-Soul – resurrects our body to Life in G-d when we die to our ego while alive. There is an implicit promise in this – unknowable to the senses which universally deceive our perception of appearances – that there is some sort of Life in the identity-shattering world-Soul after the goal of the second death as well.

  3. Is this about the “you” picture? Because that’s not about you as in ego you. It’s about any and all of you, when you die. I’m all for shattering egos, but just because everyone is deceiving themselves to some extent and has a persona they put on, whether they know it or not, doesn’t mean that if you can shed that you can also live forever… What do you mean?
